Obituary

At my funeral, I see my family there and my closest friends there. And this is what I believe will be said:
Ruchama Lubin was a friendly person. She was always the one to call on when you need help with something; or if you just wanted to talked. She was a very religious person, whatever she was doing she made sure the Lord Father God was in it first before she did anything. Loved that about her. She was a free little bird, she never really like being tired down with work or family life. I remember when we use to talk about marriage and stuff; she would say that she doesn’t really see herself getting married. She said that, “I cannot see myself not being able to do what I want because of my family.” But she end up getting married to her best friend and loved it. She loved her family and spending time with them. She made it a keep element in her life to make sure that she was there for her kids and husband. Her work was her passion. She could make a regular moment become this great moment with her photography. And as good as she was she never took her work to serious where it controlled her life. Chama loved her work. I mean she loved taking pictures. This girl carried with her two, sometime three, cameras with her where ever she went. She really lived up to her work statement which was Live Life and Capture Every Moment. Thank You!

Jan 20: Sarah Sands

Sarah is a painter that at the beginning of her career started painting thing perspective. She would paint what she would see, especially what she would see. She did things like bathrooms, china cases, and people. From there she started painted thing like windows. This came from the whole western tradition. And the windows that she would paint would become mirror images. She spoke of someone name Lose Manedio, I think that’s how you spell it. And with Lose Manedio he had this whole mirror window thing as well that would go in to space. In her beginning work she related a lot of her work to him.
Well after a while she moved to Indiana and became a teacher. At that time she saw how her students were free, more free then she was, and she went with that. She said that she always put rules in with her painting and working with her student she realize that there really are no rules when it comes to art. At that point she started to draw/paint more freely. She had a time where she was drawing/painting lines that look like they were going inward and then outward. It was really nice. Her work now has a lot to do with like yard. She started with actually put a piece of yard on her paper and just started drawing/painting. And in her painting now you can see the lines intertwining with each other; in and out. I really enjoy those painting cause you can see that she was relax and was just drawing at that point, no rules. I could really relate to the part about the rules, because as a photographer I feel that I give myself a lot of rules. But now I see that there is no need for rules. I need to relax and just take pictures.

How to Assess, Plan, and take Action

The part of this chapter that we were assigned to read talked a lot about make a plan. The author states that we all need to plan. And we all do plan, even when we may not know it. Like when we have a doctor’s appointment, we have to plan when we can go and what needs to be done that way we can make it to the appointment on time. The author states that planning is not just for organization and we do it all the time. The author says that planning helps address the daily question “What needs to be done now?” it lets you know what should or shouldn’t be paid attention to at that very moment. That way we are not working on something that could wait on till like the next day.
The next thing that was talked about was our dreams. The author says that it is good to dream big, and also write everything down. She said to write freely, and to give no limit to our dream. She said to imagine as if we have just won 40 million dollars, so money was not an issue in our dreams. She also said to not only dream about our place of work that going to make us happy but to also think of outside, like our family. What our relationship with our partner and children going to be like. What is going to make us happy all around. I know for me the one thing that is going to make me happy is to be free in my line of work. Whatever I end up doing with my degree in photography I just want to have the freedom of being able to leave when need be. And the freedom to be with my family to be able to do family stuff, like family trip.
