The other day in my Video Media class we went to visit the two artists that are doing the ‘Get Real’ exhibition, Megan Hilderandt and Sarah Kelly. I found this exhibition very interesting; at least one part. I’m not too sure who is who or what artist is doing which exhibition but I like the one that was based o the ‘Real World’ story.
One of the artist’s exhibitions was based on a sinkhole that happened here in Tampa. Which is pretty funny because she is not a Tampa person and she was surprise about the whole sinkhole thing being a regular thing in Tampa. The sinkhole that she is talking about in her exhibition happened somewhere on 15th street I believe, I’m not too sure. And this pass Friday there was one by my job, on 41 and 54th. I guess sinkholes are a regular in Tampa. Anyways the other exhibition was based on the reality show ‘Real World’. This one I found really cool. Just like the artist I am a big fan of that show and I would love for them to come to Tampa. The artist for this exhibition dressed up as several different characters that are usually protruded in the ‘Real World’ show. The characters were on TV talking in the confession room in front of a Tampa backdrop. I’m telling you I love this idea. She should show this to someone important so that we can get ‘Real World’ to come to Tampa. I would really like that to happen. I would love to help her push the idea if need be, because I really want this to come true.
